It's not the pencil that draws, it is your hand!

This unique work is truly art in motion.  Whether drawing lines or inscribing words, the act of making marks lures the ideas into the physical world. Hands perceive and reveal things that our eyes and consious minds may never know.  We discover things about ourselves and our thoughts by engaging the hand in a mark-making process.

TWISTING LEAF
Unfurling toward the blaze of the sun, leaves bask to sustain us.  Like open palms, they gather and harness  energy from light, a miracle that is the foundation for nearly all life on earth.  Our prosperity depends on its ability to thrive and grow, for we breathe its oxygen, eat of its body and take refuge in its canopy.  As Walt Whitman implies in "Leaves of Grass" we, and they are myriad,  extending through rich, black soil across the reach of continents.

Quick facts:  Made of carbon, not lead...infused with a polymer to keep them from rubbing off on your hands... competely  non-toxic...will last 7-9 years...and yes, they will break if dropped...

Each sculpture comes safely packaged in a special AS Batle Box with an enclosure telling about the artist and another telling about the significant item.
